Today we celebrate Constitution Day! It’s a time to learn about the U.S. Constitution, reflect on the rights and responsibilities it represents, and recognize the importance of being informed and engaged members of our community. Let’s celebrate the history that continues to shape our nation!

We honor the lives lost, the heroes who courageously responded, and the families and communities forever affected by that tragic day. May we continue to practice and teach the values of courage, compassion, unity, and service.
We will never forget. 🇺🇸

The classrooms are ready, the teachers are excited, and we can’t wait to welcome our students back tomorrow, Wednesday, August 26!
We’re looking forward to seeing familiar faces, meeting new students, and kicking off another great year of learning, growing, and making memories together.
This year is extra special as E.C.H.O. Charter School celebrates our 30th year of serving students and families!
Get a good night’s sleep, pack your school supplies, and get ready for a great first day.
See you tomorrow, E.C.H.O.!

Our first day of school is Wednesday, August 26, and now is the time to help students get back into their school-year routine.
Over the next few days, encourage your student to begin going to bed and waking up at the same times they will during the school week. Getting back on a regular sleep schedule before Wednesday can make those first mornings easier and help students arrive at school more rested, alert, and ready to learn.
A strong start to the school year begins before the first bell rings. Start adjusting those bedtimes and morning routines now so everyone is ready to have a great first day at E.C.H.O. Charter School!
We can’t wait to welcome our students back on Wednesday!

Your kindness and generosity will make a meaningful difference as our students begin the new school year. We truly appreciate your continued support of our school and community. ❤️📚✏️
Thank you for helping our students start the school year prepared for success!

We greatly appreciate Chief DeSmet sharing his knowledge, experience, and practical guidance with us. The training will help our staff continue working together to provide a safe and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and families.
Thank you for your time and your continued commitment to keeping our schools and communities safe!

Our staff have been working hard all week to prepare classrooms and complete training focused on promoting the health, safety, and well-being of our students and staff.
Today’s activities focused on teamwork and communication. Through several team-building challenges, we discovered just how difficult it can be to accomplish a goal without clear communication and cooperation. These activities gave us a chance to learn, laugh, and strengthen our ability to work together as a team.
We are looking forward to a safe, successful, and memorable school year. We cannot wait to welcome everyone back to E.C.H.O. for our 30th year!

Here’s today’s fun science fact: Your body has its own internal clock called a circadian rhythm. This roughly 24-hour cycle helps control when you feel awake and when you feel sleepy. Light, meal times, activity, and regular bedtime routines all help tell your brain what time of day it is.
Teenagers also tend to experience a natural shift in their circadian rhythm that can make them want to stay up later and sleep later. That can make those first few early school mornings especially challenging after summer break!
With two weeks to go, now is a great time for students to begin gradually adjusting their schedules. Try moving bedtime and wake-up time about 15–30 minutes earlier every few days until it is close to the schedule you will need for school.
A few things that can help:
• Get some sunlight soon after waking up
• Keep bedtime and wake-up times consistent
• Start winding down before bedtime
• Limit bright screens late at night
• Avoid sleeping too late in the morning, even on weekends
Small changes now can make that first week of school much easier.
14 days to go, E.C.H.O.! Start resetting those internal clocks and get ready for a great school year beginning August 26!

The first day of school at E.C.H.O. Charter School is Wednesday, August 26. Now is the perfect time to help students ease back into a school sleep routine.
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends helping children adjust to earlier bedtimes one or two weeks before the school year begins. Families can start by moving bedtime and wake-up time about 15 minutes earlier every few days until students reach their school-year schedule.
Why does sleep matter? According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, getting enough sleep helps students stay focused, improve concentration, and perform better academically. Children ages 6–12 should generally receive 9–12 hours of sleep each day, while teenagers ages 13–18 should receive 8–10 hours.
Here are a few ways to begin:
Gradually move bedtime and wake-up time earlier.
Keep sleep and wake times consistent, including on weekends.
Turn off electronic devices at least one hour before bedtime.
Create a calm routine that may include reading, showering, or preparing clothes and school supplies for the next day.
Small adjustments now can make the first week of school easier and help students arrive rested, alert, and ready to learn. We cannot wait to welcome everyone back to E.C.H.O. Charter School!

Social Studies Brain Starter: Did you know August was once the sixth month of the year? The ancient Roman calendar began in March, so August fell in the sixth position. It was later renamed in honor of Roman Emperor Augustus Caesar.
What new facts will you discover this school year? We will see you on August 26!
